Il Quinteto Porteño nasce nel 2006 con l’intento di esplorare e studiare il tango argentino, con particolare riguardo per la musica del grande compositore Astor Piazzolla.

L’entusiasmo e l’apprezzamento del pubblico hanno accompagnato la formazione fin dagli esordi, e sono stati rafforzati dal successo del primo disco inciso dal Quinteto, “Decarismo”, un sentito omaggio proprio al genio di Piazzolla.

Maturato un sound originale il Quinteto decide ora di affrontare composizioni proprie, presentandosi al pubblico con musica originale, interamente composta e arrangiata dalla formazione.

Il punto di forza dell’ensemble resta la spontaneità espressiva, che rende le esecuzioni particolarmente convincenti.

Riunendo musicisti provenienti da mondi musicali molto diversi fra loro, nelle composizioni del Quinteto la Musica classica, il Jazz (ogni brano ha uno spazio dedicato all'improvvisazione) e una vena cantabile tipicamente italiana si fondono con i ritmi argentini.

Ne viene fuori una musica colta, raffinata e allo stesso tempo popolare, che riesce a entusiasmare e trascinare con sé qualsiasi ascoltatore.

The Porteno Quintet was formed in 2006

with the intent to explore and study argentinian tango, with particular regard to the music of the great composer Astor

Piazzolla. The enthusiasm and appreciation of the public has followed them from the beginning and has grown with the release of their first album

“Decarismo”, a heartfelt homage to the

genius of Piazzolla. Having developed

their own unique sound the group has

now decided to present original music,

entirely composed and arranged by

them.

The strong point of the ensemble continues being their expressive spontaneity,which makes their performances particolarly memorable. Melding together musicians that come from very different worlds, the compositions of the quinteto fuse classical, jazz (each track has a part

dedicated to improvisation) and a typical

italian vocal sound with argentinian

rhythms. The result is a cultured, refined

and at the same time popular music,

which excites and transports the listener.
